Cafeteria extension to main hall

Davison School, Worthing

The ‘Davison Diner’ has made a big impression on both staff and students by providing a much needed light and airy lunchtime space. Students helped to select the bright colour scheme and to design the artwork and signage.

The extension replaces an under used courtyard and creates an indoor cafeteria space to accommodate approximately 150 seats with tables. The west elevation is fully glazed to maximise the opportunity for daylight and natural ventilation. A large roof eaves overhang partially shades this facade and provides shelter to the entrance doors. Four large roof lights give further daylight and natural ventilation to the space.
