Pankhurst Avenue, Brighton

Planning permission was secured following extensive consultations with the local authority, for nine contemporary family homes on the site of a former underground reservoir. The design of the stepped terraced houses responds to the streetscape of two storey terraces and semi-detached post-war houses. The reduced level and topography of the site interior allowed for the creation of split level courtyard houses. Demolition material from the vaulted brick structure was utilised to infill garden voids and minimise off site waste transfer.

Completed in 2010
