Outline planning proposal for a new development on the edge of the town settlement boundary within the High Weald AONB. A mix of dwelling types and tenures are proposed in a design which responds to the character and urban grain of the historic market town setting while achieving an openness to the rural edge. The layout enhances mature landscape features and hedgerow enclosure and adapts to the steep site topography by orienting rooflines and outlook across the valley to distant views of the parish church.
